The KDO Governance

The governance of Kagera Islamic Development Organization (KIDO) is founded on the principles of transparency, accountability, and community participation guided by Islamic ethics. KIDO operates under a Board of Trustees composed of respected community leaders, Islamic scholars, and professionals who provide strategic direction, oversight, and policy guidance. The Board ensures that all organizational activities align with the mission, vision, and Sharia principles governing Islamic charitable work. Day-to-day operations are managed by an Executive Management Team, headed by a Coordinator or Executive Director, who supervises program officers, finance staff, and volunteers across various departments such as education, social welfare, and community development. Decisions are made collaboratively through consultations and regular meetings to ensure inclusivity and fairness. KIDO also maintains an Advisory and Audit Committee to monitor financial integrity, compliance, and the effectiveness of programs. Annual reports and financial statements are shared with stakeholders and the wider community to uphold accountability and public trust. This governance structure allows KIDO to operate efficiently, maintain credibility, and fulfill its mission of serving the community with integrity and faith-based leadership.
